It takes a while to adjust to a new role, and you shouldn't fault yourself for that. But it doesn't help when you have a manager that isn't sympathetic to your cause. Tiktok user thejamieedit laid out the beginning of her story by saying, “Okay, the first like one or two days one or two shifts whatever, I was just on the iPad like doing the iPad training whatever. I was used to that because i'd done it before and it was chill. I met the manager, I met some of the other co-workers, everyone was super nice. I was like, oh my gosh the manager was a little bit older, so I was like oh she's so nice. Whatever. I was wrong.” Whenever something seems good at first, it's usually worth sticking around to see if your initial feeling was correct. In this case, it wasn't.

Things got to a peak when the employee realized she had stayed way over her scheduled shift. "I'm like ‘Hey what time is it?’ And she's like 'Oh it's 5:30.' If I'm right, I'm pretty sure I got off at 2 or 2:30. I hadn't had a single break, and my managers know I'm there. I don't have a phone, don't have a clock. So I go up to my manager and I'm like, 'Hey, I haven't been on a single break. It's 5:30. I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to leave at two.' And you know what she says to me? ‘You should have said something.’ She was left wondering just why her manager would keep her so late. Watch the full video for the full storytime.
